Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive, osteopathically-based form of body therapy that is highly effective in working with chronic stress, injuries and pains or problems associated with postural and structural imbalances.
The practitioner uses gentle movements and positions of the body to facilitate the change of stress and pain patterns. A strong focus is placed on the comfort of the individual, no forceful manipulations are used.
The practitioner also suggests home exercises to further facilitate the neuromuscular re-education process begun in the session.
Ortho-Bionomy relieves muscle and joint pain, increases flexibility, improves circulation, and relaxes the entire body. Your Ortho-Bionomy practitioner believes that by working WITH the body and not against it, they can help the body find balance on its own without using force to correct it.
Ortho-Bionomy:
• Is natural, safe and painless
• Reminds the body of its own self-corrective reflexes
• Has lasting results – many conditions require only a few sessions for long-term improvement
• Changes old posture habits
• Accelerates healing of both acute and chronic problems, and after surgery
• Helps babies with settling, sleeping and feeding problems, crawling problems and structural alignment problems from birth (neck, hips, shoulders)
• Helps children feel more comfortable and balanced in their growing bodies, addressing coordination and posture problems, learning difficulties, developmental delay, ‘hyperactivity', poor concentration
• Improves or eliminates symptoms resulting from all kinds of trauma, from minor physical injuries to emotional and psychological trauma, post traumatic stress syndrome, birth trauma for babies and constant stress.
• Helps pregnant and post-natal women find comfort in their changing bodies, relieving pain and tension and accelerating recovery after birth
